The particle board catalyst is designed specifically as a core layer catalyst for particle board resins to increase production rate. It is faster in reactivity than standard Ammonium Chloride or Sulphate Solutions and the high solids content allows lower core moisture contents which permits higher press temperatures and faster press times to be achieved without a reduction in board properties. It is suitable for use with UF, MUF and MUPF resins and works well with E0 and E1 resins.
MF, UF and MUF resins are too slowly cured at the temperatures employed in the impregnator ovens. A hardener must be added of the correct type and concentration to speed up the reaction to give the required degree of cure for the temperatures, speed and machine. Our CT series of hardeners are designed to do just this.
We have a wide range of aqueous solutions of organic dyes that are designed specifically for addition to particle board resin binder systems and in dilute form to MDF fiber mats for identification purposes. Our dyes are stable in both the high temperature and acidic environment encountered in board pressing operations. They have no detrimental effect on board properties. Also, because they are UV stable, our dyes are being widely used in laminates such as High Pressure Compact Laminates.
Our FW series of wetting agents simply speed up the wetting and penetration of resin into the paper. Some papers wet out rapidly and do not require any additive whilst others do not. Generally a wetting agent is added to all first stage resin formulations for simplicity, and to ensure that application rollers are completely wetted out. Recent environmental issues concerning nonyl phenol ethoxylates have led to the development of products, which are free of these compounds. These new FENTAK FW products represent the latest technology in wetting agents and have already experienced strong demand in Europe and Scandinavia.
Our FENTAK MR series of release / levelling agents are required to ensure that the melamine resin does not stick to the press plates during the pressing process, it can also substantially affect prepreg smoothness, dusting, paper slip, and blocking. The levelling agent is required to provide a smooth resin film on the paper free of surface defects such as fish eyes and dry spots.
Our FENTAK PG series of pigment dispersions are designed to lower cost by allowing our customer to use our dispersion on lighter weight white papers and achieve an equivalent appearance to the heavier weight paper. We also have a wide range of other pigment dispersions for various niche applications such as addition to Phenolic Resins making Shuttering Board or Compact Laminate.
Our modified water based release agent has been specifically formulated to be used on Rotodamping Applicator machines. These machines give a very even coverage of material onto fiber mats but have limitations which prevent the use of a wide variety of conventional spray materials. The problems include excessive foam generation, bacterial growth and line clogging. The UR series release agents eliminate these problems and further provides excellent release and improvement in surface quality. The faster heat transfer to the core of the panel caused by the extra steam generation at the surface also allows reduced press times. It also prevents build-up of resin / fibrous material on the press die or belt which causes an uneven pressed surface and can slow down pressing times by acting as an insulator.
